I had a wonderful dream about an AG lamp. I am making a car lamp for my son so I guess that is where the inspiration came from.

I used a bookend or figurine to sit on the base. The shade was made of a collage of historical dolls pictures. Now, if I can just figure out exactly how to make one.

Any suggestions? Catalog pages would show the pictures on the back of the page so that is out.
I won't be selling them of course, but it is a great idea for our AG rooms.

Great idea! Would the trading card pictures work or are they too thick? I'd love to see pictures once you have made one. Have fun!

How about scanning catalog pictures or the book illustrations and reprinting with your computer printer to make them one sided?

Or you could try making color copies of the pictures at Kinkos on shiney paper--or would the illustrations shine through there, as well?

Maybe you could buy some of the books from a thrift store and tear the illustrations out (?!)

You could probably get a basic lamp base and shade at an arts and crafts store, or the Good Will. Once you have the shade, you could decopage the illustrations onto it.

Hmm... Isn't there special fabric you can print pictures onto? That might be fun to. Then you could take pictures from online (the website) and print them onto the fabric, and put THAT on the lamp shade...

If you have any of the AG sticker packs or just AG stickers, I think those would work.
or like another board member suggested trading cards, but they are pretty thick.
